Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has renewed its long-standing association with the equestrian world, creating an iconic jump in the cross-country phase as a sponsor of the Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials.

More than 60,000 visitors to the Oxfordshire estate were captivated by fence four on the challenging course during the four-day event. The sponsorship marks the automotive brand’s first equestrian partnership since Mitsubishi Motors in the UK appointed a new sales dealer network and launched two new models earlier this year.

The iconic obstacle comprised of two all-new Mitsubishi L200 Series 7 pickups placed end-to-end around a wooden structure. The white trucks formed a technical cross-country fence, tackled during the competition by more than 70 elite global riders including Olympians Tom McEwan MBE, Laura Collett MBE and Zara Tindall MBE. The brand was also official sponsor of the event’s VIP Palace Pavilion.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has previously enjoyed a long and distinguished association with equestrian events and personalities. It was title sponsor of Badminton Horse Trials for nearly three decades, as well as backing grassroots competitions and top tier riders such as Mary King MBE and daughter Emily. The marque has supported Hartpury College’s three-day event and an education programme on towing safety, as well providing vehicles for eventer Leslie Law MBE and dressage’s Carl Hester MBE.

“Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has long been linked with equestrian competitions and competitors, at all levels of the sport,” said Toby Marshall, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK.  “Our partnership with Blenheim International Horse Trials provides an ideal showcase for the all-new L200 Series 7 as well as the new Outlander PHEV with their exceptional four-wheel drive, fuel efficiency and towing capabilities. Our products align perfectly with the demands of the equestrian world, and we’re delighted to be back in the saddle supporting this important market.“
